It's been awfully quiet here at The Creative Middle. I've been pretty busy working on God of War with the amazing team at Sony Santa Monica. We took some big risks and challenges on with God of War. We've had our fair share of ups and downs. Looking back at this journey, I am pretty amazed with what we were able to deliver; leaving us excited, humbled and overwhelmed by the positive reception from critics, our peers and our players! Thank you all for your love, support and for playing. With this beast of a game out, I'm looking forward to getting back to sharing ideas and thoughts about making games, including development nuggets from God of War, and relaunching this blog! Hopefully, I can get into a steady rhythm of posting new content and sharing interesting ideas from the industry. Stay tuned for more posts.
Animation Developer Hangout
The last few weeks have been a bit of a blur. We're currently busy working on packing as much action into Just Cause 3 as possible with a confirmed ship date being announced at E3; you'll be able to get your hands on Just Cause 3 on December 1st, 2015 on PS4, XBOX One and PC! Stay tuned for more trailers, videos and news on that front. With all that going on, I haven't quite had the time to finish my next post. Stay tuned, it's currently in development.
Until then, a bunch of stellar chaps (Alex Champandard, Bobby Angelov, Geoff Harrower, Rob Rypka, Tim Borelli) and I got together on a Sunday morning to have some coffee and chat about animation/gameplay logic. It was a lot of fun and in case you missed it, here's a recording of our discussion. We hope to have more of these in the future. A lot of neat ideas were talked about and it's definitely got some of my gears turning for future discussion and posts. Thanks to Tim Borelli and Mike Jungbluth for organizing and broadcasting the chat.
